The Situation of PLWHIVA in Burundi

Issue: In Burundi, we have PLWHA, the big number is located in urban zones.

Project: After my reseach, I found that the spreading of HIV/AIDS put Burundi among countries that have highly touched by this pandemic in the world. Burundi has 250,000 PLWHA, among them 220,000 are adults from 15-49 years old, and 130,000 are women. According to UNAIDS, 25,000 people died due to HIV/AIDS and 200,000 are orphans. Most of youth who have HIV/AIDS are between 15-24 years.

Result: In 2004, ARV helped a lot PLWHA in Burundi, those who were on ARV treatment were 1200 at the end of 2003 but in 2004 we had 4,000 people on ARV treatment, this is 3 times of 2003.

Lesson learned: The use of ARV to PLWHA is very good but few people have access to this treatment. We would recomment that donors may provide enough funds to CCD Burundi(NGO) so that many PLWHA have access to ARV and HAART.

Urgent assistance needed for children & their parents starving due to severe hunger in Burundi

Greetings in Jesus Name!

This is to inform you that CCD Burundi is looking for an Urgent assistance for children & their parents who are starving due to severe drought and resulting Hunger in Kirundo & Muyinga Provinces in Burundi. More than twenty people have already died of hunger and some children have to be fed through a syringe because they are not able to swallow food. The number of
victims is increasing daily

Would you please connect us to any organizations that could provide any assistance for these people who are facing hunger in this part of Burundi. Thanks for your

Many women and children were buried in a mass grave on Monday 16, 04. Please help survivors!!!

Many children were wounded in this tragedy, CCD BURUNDI needs to bring support to the survivors in Gatumba refugee camp, please tell other churches, organizations and Friends to send support to our children survivors of this tragedy. They are in critical situation. Please pray for them.

Please read this message and forward it to others. I have never seen this in my life, my many needy children, parents, and other people in Gatumba refugee camp have been killed today. I was there mysefl today to see what happened. It is beyond my understanding. Please pray for few children wha are still arrive but injured.

GOSPEL PEACE CRUSADE IN BUJUMBURA BURUNDI FROM 1 – 4 APRIL 2004.

Dear Praying Friend,

Greetings in Jesus name!

I am pleased to let you know that Bishop Obadiah who was refugee in Kigoma Tanzania came to visit us and CCD BURUNDI has prepared where this man of God will be preaching for 4 days in Victory Mission Church here in Bujumbura. He starts to preach today until Sunday. He will also preach in other churches later.

In the beginning of April we plan to run an open air of Gospel Peace crusade in Bujumbura from 1- 4 April 20004 in a locality where many people were killed during an ongoing war of over 10 years. The ongoing war has destroyed many things here in Burundi and many souls have been traumatised and bring hatred in hearts of people from different ethnic group. This crusade will gather first 8 churches that Benjamin & Katrin preached Gospel in last 3 months visit to Burundi and all people are invited to attend the crusade. We hope that the message of peace that is going to be preached Bishop Obadiah in this locality called Kamenge will unite many people.

Please pray for needed financial means for this crusade, we need $ 3, 000 USD for it. Please ask the Lord what you can contribute for this harvest work. Please pray for many souls to know the Lord. Thanks you for your prayers and help. May the Lord bless you all.
